QNUK Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) Suitability The Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification is ideal for those working in lower hazard environments (e.g. shops, offices), with smaller teams (i.e. less than 50 people), where HSE guidelines specify staff should be EFAW qualified or where they are supporting colleagues who hold a full First Aid at Work qualification. Learners should be a minimum of 16 years to undertake this qualification. Description The informative and enjoyable one-day course will equip learners with the skills and confidence to respond to a range of first aid incidents and emergencies. Course Content * What is First Aid? * Legislation * Responsibilities of the First Aider. * Action in an Emergency * Primary Survey * Secondary Assessment * The Respiratory System * Resuscitation & AED * Disorders of respiration * Disorders of circulation * Wounds & Bleeding * Seizures * Minor Burns and Scalds * Foreign objects How is this course assessed? Assessment is ongoing by the instructor, along with a multiple choice question paper, and a three-year qualification will be issued to those who satisfy the criteria. In addition, the HSE strongly recommend that all students undergo an annual refresher programme of three hours.
