The purpose of internal investigations is to respond to allegations of wrongdoing in the workplace and to ensure that the facts are established in a fair, consistent and impartial way which is compliant with current employment legislation. The impact of not conducting investigations well is that it could lead to decisions being made which ultimately result in an employment tribunal claim, and if won, can cost thousands of pounds to defend and over and above that thousands of pounds in compensatory awards not to mention reputational damage. As a result of this workshop, participants will understand: The key framework for structuring an effective internal investigation. How to conduct interviews and collate witness statements. How to make decisions on the information provided. The key elements of employment law that need to be considered. Duration: ½ day
