Course Overview

Mobile access towers are the backbone of safe working at height across UK construction sites, facilities, and events. These versatile, lightweight structures with four legs and wheels can reach heights of 8m outdoors and 12m indoors—and with proper training, they're quick and safe to assemble with collective fall prevention throughout.

PASMA Towers for Users is the UK's flagship mobile tower training course, completed by over 70,000 delegates annually. Whether you're new to towers or need formal certification, this one-day course delivers the specialist knowledge and practical skills to work safely and compliantly.

What You'll Learn

Through expert-led theory and hands-on practical training, you'll master:

  • Legislation & Standards: Work at Height Regulations 2005, EN 1004 tower standards, and your legal duties

  • Tower Components: Frame types, braces, platforms, stabilisers, guardrails, toe boards, and wheels

  • Safe Assembly Methods: 3T (Through the Trap) and AGR (Advance Guardrail) techniques for collective fall protection

  • Inspection & Checks: Pre-use inspections, load capacity assessment, and stability verification

  • Risk Assessment: Identifying hazards, environmental factors, and safe work planning

  • Safe Use Practices: Climbing, working from platforms, moving towers, and dismantling procedures

  • Manufacturer Instructions: Reading and following tower-specific assembly guidance

Hands-On Training

This isn't a classroom-only course. You'll spend significant time building real towers under expert supervision, practicing:

  • Assembling towers using approved 3T and AGR methods

  • Conducting pre-use inspections

  • Identifying unsafe configurations

  • Dismantling towers safely

  • Responding to common on-site scenarios

Theory Session​

Assessment

  • Written Assessment: Multiple-choice test covering theory and regulations

  • Practical Assessment: Demonstrate safe assembly, inspection, and dismantling under instructor observation
